European Social Fund Courses

The opportunity to organize European Social Fund courses in the school in 1987 allows Ar.Co to make some changes it had long wished for (the beginning of the activities in Ceramics, for instance, only becomes plausible because of this project). The ESF courses take the form of a long Summer School program, from July to the end of September, with a vast number of collaborators being specially invited for the purpose. The departments involved (and their Heads) are Graphic Design (Vítor Simões), Sculpture (Graça Costa Cabral), Drawing (Ana Leonor), Jewellery (Tereza Seabra), Painting (José Mouga), Ceramics (Alberto Cidraes), Photography (Manuel Silveira Ramos) and Glass (Rolney Barreto). The results are exhibited, together with those from the FRT Intensive Courses (Drug Addicts Training and Reintegration Fund, also funded by the European Social Fund), at the Forum Picoas in Lisbon, from the 4th to the 14th of February 1988.
